Great turnout to our meeting on Friday about ideas to improve our streets. Thanks to everyone attending and those who posted ideas via email and facebook.
The ideas discussed were;
Tree Planting – Two trees to be planted in Bradley Road to replace the ones that died there.
Pavement Planters – Where there is space on pavements – eg. Junction of Ringslade Road and Cumberland – to brighten up the area. Also mini planters around the base of roadside trees.
Decorated Junction Boxes – Brightening up those dreary green junction boxes with brightly coloured stencils.
Litter Pickers – So we can organise our own ‘street ‘clean-up’ days
Book Swap Box – Our own neighbourhood Book Swap Box sited on one of our streets.
Decorative Street Signs – Street signs with local logo or decoration on them.
Street Mural – Maybe a long-term aim given the need to find site and get design approved – could really make a difference locally.
Community Garden – Bid to take over small garden area at the side of Wood Green Works and improve its appearance.
